About Me
Military Service
I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2006 and shortly after commissioning as an Armor officer, I deployed to Iraq as the Scout Platoon Leader for an infantry battalion where I had the privilege of leading 53 soldiers, sailors, and airmen on numerous missions that resulted in the capture of 28 high-value insurgents (those planning, financing, and carrying out attacks on American and coalition troops).
Very shortly after my year-long deployment to Iraq, I volunteered to join my wife (also a West Point grad) in Afghanistan where I served as the Logistics Officer for a 500-man reconnaissance squadron in the 101st Airborne Division, located in the mountains of Eastern Afghanistan. The squadron was spread across five remote bases, in extremely rugged terrain (many only accessible by helicopter) and I was directly responsible for properly supplying the squadron with food, water, ammunition, and fuel throughout the deployment.
Following my deployment to Afghanistan, I assumed command of an extremely challenged headquarters company of 190 soldiers in the 101st Airborne Division, suffering from low morale and deployment fatigue. Together with my senior leadership team, we worked to aggressively exit poor performers, develop / mentor those willing to work hard, and we successfully re-focused the company on key tasks to increase deployment readiness.
Following my military service, I was accepted to MIT where I earned my Masters in Engineering (with a focus on supply chains and logistics) and an MBA. Upon graduation, I earned a highly-competitive investment banking position with BofA’s oil & gas team in Houston.
As an investment banker, I spent the last 10 years providing strategic financial advice to companies of all sizes. Throughout my tenure, I served as an advisor on more than $25 billion in total transactions, including M&A (buying and selling businesses) as well as bank loan, high yield, and equity financings.
Most recently, I focused on middle market and high-growth companies with exposure to numerous industries, including: energy, utility services, engineering & construction, insurance services, distribution, and industrial services (among others).
